Sundance Hosted by Mick Bates
AM at the National Assembly for Wales
December 2005
Sundance
were recently hosted by Mick Bates AM, at the National Assembly for Wales in
Cardiff. Over the past year we have been collecting signatures to support
a reduction on the fuel duty for biodiesel which is taxed at 27.1p per litre, in
comparison with LPG which is only 6p per litre yet is still a fossil fuel.
By December the petition contained approximately 2,000 signatures.
Sundance presented the petition to Rhodri Glyn Thomas, AM for Carmarthen
East and Dinefwr on December 9th.
In support
of our biodiesel project Mick Bates has written letters to Gordon Brown MP and
Andrew Davies AM, urging them to decrease the tax on biodiesel and use more
sustainable fuels in Assembly vehicles, to give a better opportunity for
biodiesel in line with the Government's commitment to reducing carbon emissions.

G8 Protest Camp 2005 -
Supplied with Biodiesel by Sundance Renewables!
July 2005
In July
2005 world leaders gathered at the G8 Summit in Gleneagles to focus on the
challenges of poverty and climate change. Thousands of people gathered at
a camp in Stirling to protest against the G8. The campsite was located
beside the River Forth and was powered by renewable energy, with recycling
facilities, compost toilets, good water conservation practices and locally
sourced food. Biodiesel was supplied by Sundance Renewables for sale at
the site or to
fuel the minibuses around the camp. The camp was hailed as a success,
promoting a sustainable form of living and setting a positive comparison to the
capitalist model of modern society.
